Installation of PowerheadDeluxe
1Remove gearcase from exhaust housing
2Lubricate end of water tubeAssemble the powerhead to the exhaust housingTighten the screws to torque of 60-84 inIbs(7-9 Nm), starting with the center screw3Coat driveshaft splines with OMC Moly LubeDo not coat top surface of shaft as lubricant here may prevent seating of driveshaft in crankshaft4Install the gearcase on the exhaust housing, making sure the water tube enters grommet of the water pumpApply OMC Gasket Sealing Compound to the threads of the gearcase screwsInstall the screws and tighten to torque of 60-84 inIbs(7-9 Nm)5Install ignition system components as described in Section 36Install fuel system components as described in Section 2To avoid permanent powerhead damage, instruct operator to repeat the original engine break-in procedure, as described in Section 1, before putting engine back into normal service
