crankcase and let air dry
1301 20Apply Gel Seal lito the cylinder block flange The application must cover the flange evenly and consistently without being excessiveThe application must not come within in(6,4 mm) of the labyrinth seals or bearings
Gel Seal II has shelf life of at least one year when stored at room temperatureTest the Gel Seal II or replace it if the age of the tube can not be determinedUsing old Gel Seal II could cause crankcase air leaks21Lower the crankcase into placeLightly coat threads of the main bearing screws with OMC Gel-Seal IIInstall the six main bearing screws finger tight22When the crankcase is seated, install and firmly seat the crankcase taper pin23Using soft face mallet, lightly tap bottom ofthe crankshaft to seat the lower main bearing24Tighten the six main bearing screws in stages to final torque of 60-84 inIbs(7-9 Nm)Begin with center screws and work outward in spiral patternTighten the four flange screws to torque of 60-84 inIbs(7-9 Nm)
