caps There is an O-ring and back-up ringone of two different designsNewer nylon seals will be continuous ring of nylonOlder seals are split
45Remove the outside seals from the trim cylinder end
Using smooth flat tool, remove the scraper from the trim end capPry the scraper out of the groove in the end cap Discard the scrapersUsing the same smooth flat tool, remove the O-ring from the end capsDiscard the O-ringsClean both end caps and scrape all corrosion or loose paint from the threads in the outside O-ring area
