Maximum Spark Advance Adjustment I Note Run the engine with the proper test wheelDo not run
the engine witha propeller or flushing adapter for the adjustment1Connect timing light to the No.1 cylinder2Start and run the engine to minimum of 5000 RPM in FORWARD gear with timer base fully advanced3The engine timing mark must align with correct degree mark on the flywheel gridSee chart below

4Stop the engine to prevent contact with rotating partsRemove the spark advance rod Bend rod ends together to advance timing; bend rod ends apart to retard timing
5Install the spark advance rod and recheck timing per steps and 3Wide Open Throttle Stop Adjustment1With the engine not running, advance the throttle control to wide open position
