1441 11Using new a-rings lubricated with GM Dexron II, install the sump relief valve components in the rear end of the reservoir a-ring (.610 .104") Seat Ball Guide Spring (Light) Housing and a-ring (.736 .103")
Torque the valve housing to 50-60 inIbs(6-7 Nm)12Install pulley key in pump shaft with key's flat surface parallel to the shaft centerline13Clean the shaft and pulley tapers with OMC Cleaning Solvent and let air dry14Install pump pulley and locknutReplace the locknut if you do not feel definite resistance to tightening1451 15Hold pump pulley with Stevens Strap Wrench S-17 and torque the locknut to 35-40 ftIbs(47-54 Nm)1461 16Install the idler housing and pivot screwsInstall, but do not tig hten the locknuts17Clean the shaft and pulley tapers with OMC Cleaning Solvent and let air dry18Install the idler pulley and locknutReplace the locknut if you do not feel definite resistance to tightening1471 19Hold idler pulley with Stevens Strap Wrench S-17 and torque locknut to 35-40 ftIbs(47-54 Nm)
