4Move the remote control handle to full throttle in FORWARDf61 5Rotate the propeller shaft and shift the gearcase into FORWARDf71 6Install the shift cable on the shift lever pin Install the flat washerInstall the locknut finger tightf81 7Pull firmly on cable casing to remove backlash and adjust cable trunnion nut to locate in anchor pocket8Install the anchor pocket cover and torque screw to 60-84 inIbs(7-9 Nm)9Shift the remote control to NEUTRAl10Temporarily remove the shift cable and verify that the gearcase is in its NEUTRAL detentIf there aren't enough threads on the shift cable to allow the adjustment in Step 7, or if the gearcase detent does not correspond with remote control NEUTRAL in Step 10, refer to Section for shift rod height adjustment
