Replacement of RectifierRegulator Removal
INotel Disconnect battery cables at battery before proceedingGJ 1Remove the ignitionelectrical bracket cover2Swing the electrical component bracket away from the powerhead to expose the rectifierregulator3Remove rectifierregulator red lead from starter solenoid4Loosen and remove the six retaining screws and the rectifier regulatorInstallation 1Coat both sides of new gasket with OMC Gasket Sealing Compound and install gasket and new rectifierregulator2Coat the threaded portion of the six retaining screws with OMC Gasket Sealing Compound and install themThe two front center screws have star washersTighten them to torque of 36-84 inIbs(4-9 Nm)3Attach the rectifierregulator red lead to the battery side of the starter solenoid4Install the electrical component bracket to the powerhead5Install the ignitionelectrical bracket cover6Reconnect battery cablesTest operation as described in this section
