Stator Servicing Removal '" Twist and remove all spark plug leads to avoid accidental starting while servicing engine1Remove the flywheelRefer to Flywheel Servicing, page 3-82Disconnect stator yellow and yellowgray leads at terminal strip3Disconnect power coil orange and orangeblack leads at terminal strip4Disconnect charge coil connector(s)
Remove stator retaining screws
Installation f2'1 1Remove any varnish around retaining screw holes on tJ both sides of statorThe stator must have metal to metal contact with the crankcase head and its retaining screws2Install the stator and route the leadsf3'l 3Use only lock patch screws to retain the statorReplace any lock patch screw that has lost its locking featureApply OMC Locquic Primer then OMC Nut Lock to threads of screws4Tighten all screws to torque of 120-144 inIbs(14-16 Nm)5Attach stator and power coil leads to terminal stripCoat final connectors with OMC Neoprene Dip6Refer to Flywheel Servicing for correct flywheel installation procedure7Route and connect charge coil lead(s)
