Assembly
Position the lever
on the starter head as shown
Oil the cam follower shaft with few drops of outboard lubricantCam follower must be installed with the cam toward the inside of the starter headAlign slot of cam follower shaft with boss of leverPress together until the cam follower and lever snap into place
[}]][!J 3Install the retaining ring and the spring [!IJ Install the nylon washer by pressing down into the cam
follower shaft until washer snaps in placeSecure the spring tang behind the starter head postTension should now be applied to the cam follower and leverOil the starter head bushing with few drops of outboard lubricantPush the cam follower aside and install the bushing into the starter head Slide the starter head onto the starter spoolSlide the pinion onto the starter spool with loop of tension spring around the guide post CD of the starter head
