INotel Use new gaskets, seals, and a-rings during assembly1If removed, install upper main bearing through bottom of crankcasePress against lettered side of bearing case until bearing is recessed 0.062 in(1,5 mm) below finish thrust face of crankcase
1161 2Using OMC Seal Installer PIN 330219, install new upper sealApply OMC Gasket Sealing Compound to metal case of
sealInstall the seal with lip facing into the crankcase and until the tool is seatedApply OMC Triple-Guard grease to seal lip3If removed, install new lower main bearing and retaining ringThoroughly clean the bottom journalPlace the retaining ring on the crankshaft with sharp edge facing away from the crankshaftSupport the crankshaft between the two counterweightsLightly coat the bearing journal of the crankshaft with OMC HT 400Place the bearing on the crankshaft with lettered side facing away from the crankshaftPress the bearing onto the crankshaft until the bearing is seatedf171 4Oil the lower main bearingSlide the crankcase head over the bearingUsing OMC Retaining Ring PIN 675032, seat the retaining ring in groove of the crankcase head
