Magneto Plate ServicingColt, Junior Removal

i twist and remove all spark plug leads

2Remove the manual starterSee Section 73Remove the flywheelSee Removal of FlywheelIf servicing only the breaker points, condenser, and coil; they can be checked and replaced without removing armature plate from motor

INotel Remove screw
lead, remove exhaust cover screw to .detach the armature plate ground wire Remove screw below armature platebefore attempting to remove armature

L!:J washer Spark plug lead can be removed by removing clamp on bottom side of armature plateDisassembly

5Lift armature plate from crankcaseRemove liner

All components may be removed from the armature plate by removing the attaching screwsThe spark plug lead can be pulled from the ignition coilFor cleaning, inspection, testing and repair, refer to Magneto Ignition SystemsGeneral InformationAssembly Assemble components which were removed from the magneto armature plateFollow the reverse order of disassembly and pay particular attention to the following: f5l 1Correct locating of the ignition coil is governed by machined mounting surfaces on the armature plateCoil lamination heels should be flush with machined surfaces!sl 2Alignment of the ignition coil will be simplified with the use of OMC Coil Locating Ring PIN 317001 (8), machined to fit over three machined bosses on the armature platef7l 3If removed, connect the ground lead CD to the bottom of the armature plateApply OMC Black Neoprene Dip to connection area
