Installation 1Insert the stop button leads and throttle cable through the lower engine cover grommet2Apply OMC Triple -Guard grease to the two steering handle bushingsPlace the bushings into the steering bracketAttach the steering handle to the bracketThe steering handle nut must have nylon patch for locking Replace the nut if it has lost its locking featureTighten the nut so the steering handle can be pivoted and maintain any position ill
3 Secure the stop button ground lead to the powerhead4Using OMC Insert Tool PIN 322697, install the stop button lead into the plugConnect the 1-pin Amphenol connector5To adjust the throttle cable: aRotate the propeller shaft and shift the engine to FORWARD gear position bThread the trunnion ball and ball socket onto the throttle cablecAdvance the twist grip to wide open throttle position dManually advance the armature plate to wide open position eCheck to be sure the ball socket is fully threaded on the throttle cableSnap the ball socket onto the throttle linkage ballf Thread the trunnion ball on the cable until the ball will seat in pocket in lower engine cover At wide open position, the timer base stop should just touch boss on the powerhead
