Neutral Start Switch Adjustment, 9.9 and 5 Correct neutral start switch adjustment is possible only if the shift lever adjustment is correct
INotel Disconnect the battery cables at the battery1Shift the gearcase into NEUTRALDisconnect the starter motor red lead at the motor2 Attach continuity light or ohmmeter between the starter lead and the neutral start switch lead at the terminal board 3The continuity light or ohmmeter should show continuity
4Shift the gearcase into FORWARD and REVERSENo continuity should be indicated in either position
