Solenoid CheckA" Models
INote All engine wiring must be disconnected from the solenoid
before proceeding with this test
1Calibrate an ohmmeter on high ohms scale and connect one lead to terminal and the other lead to terminal The ohmmeter should show very high reading (00) If the ohmmeter reading is very low (zero), replace the solenoid
2Attach positive battery jumper to terminal and negative battery jumper to terminal The solenoid should close with an audible click The ohmmeter should show very low reading (zero) If the ohmmeter reading is very high (00), replace the solenoid
3After installing the solenoid, coat all wires and terminals, except the battery connection, with OMC Black Neoprene Dip

Securely fasten starter in vise or other suitable fixture before proceeding with this check
