r:tAl 9Bend the inside loop of the rewind spring in toward the center of the starter nousingEngage the pin of the pulley with the inner loop of the rewind spring and install the pulley in the starter housing f151 10Lightly apply GMC Triple-Guard grease or Lubriplate 777 to the spindle bushing and pawl pins on the pulleyInstall the bushing and the shim into the starter pulleyNext install the friction platelinks and pawlsSecure the pawls with the retaining clips f151 11Lightly apply GMC Triple-Guard grease or Lubriplate 777 to the spindleInstall the spindlefriction ring and two spring washers rN=t=l

12Clean threads of the spindle retaining screw and nut to remove adhesiveInstall the spindle retaining screw and washer into the starter housingTighten screw to torque of 120-144 inIbs(1416 Nm)Spray threads of spindle retaining screw that protrude through the starter housing and threads of the nut with GMC Locquic PrimerApply GMC Screw Lock to the threads of the nutInstall and tighten the nut securely
