4 Remove the starter rope from the pulleyCleaning and Inspection 1Wash components in solvent and dry with compressed air Inspect the rewind spring for broken end loops and weak tension3Inspect the starter components for wearReplace as necessary4 Inspect starter ropeReplace rope if frayedCut new rope to 65 in (165 cm) lengthFuse ends of rope to length of Yz in (12 mm)
