12Remove the pinion, thrust washers, and thrust bearing from the gearcase
13Inspect the upper end of the shift rod for burrsRemove the burrs using 400 grit wet or dry sandpaperSlide the shift rod out of the gearcase1141 14Remove all the components from the propeller shaft except the clutch dogInspect the components for excessive wear r:J5l 15Slide the clutch dog forward and off the,.JJropelier shaftBe careful not to lose the two detent balls and the spring 16 16Mount the gearcase head in suitable bearing separator9595
