Water Pump Servicing9.915 Disassembly 1Remove gearcase from exhaust housing as described in Gearcase Servicing, this Section
2Remove the four impeller housing screws3Remove the impeller housing and impeller by sliding them
t=J up and off the driveshaftThen remove the impeller drive pin
and impeller plate
4Remove and discard the water tube grommetO-ring and seal in he impeller housing 5Inspect the impeller, housing and plate for excessive wear6Clean the impeller plate and gearcaseAssembly
115 modelsInstall the water restrictor in the impeller housingThe shoulder of the restrictor should be seated at the bottom of the seal bore in the housing 2Apply OMC Gasket Sealing Compound to the metal casing of new driveshaft sealInstall the seal in the impeller housing with lip of seal facing into the housing3Oil and install the O-ring on the impeller housingrl f61 The 9.9 water tube grommet and the 15 water tube grommet are not interchangeableApply Adhesive to outside surface of the grommetInstall the grommet in the impeller housing with bosses of grommet seated in housingCoat the inside surface of grommet with OMC Triple-Guard grease
