Installation 1Insert the stop button leads and throttle cable through the lower engine cover grommet2Apply OMC Triple-Guard grease to the two steering handle bushingsPlace the bushings into the steering bracketAttach the steering handle to the bracket
The steering handle nut must have nylon patch for lockingReplace the nut if it has lost its locking featureTighten the nut so the steering handle can be pivoted and maintain any position
3Secure the stop button ground lead to the powerheadCOA1997
4 Using OMC Pin Insert Tool PI 322697, insert the stop button pin lead into "E" cavity of the plug5To adjust the throttle cable: aRotate the propeller shaft and shift the engine to FORWARD gear positionbThread the trunnion ball and ball socket onto the throttle cablecAdvance the twist grip to wide open throttle position dManually advance the armature plate to wide open positioneCheck to be sure the ball socket is fully threaded on the throttle cableSnap the ball socket onto the throttle linkage ballf Thread the trunnion ball on the cable until the ball will seat in pocket in lower engine coverAt wide open position, the timer base stop should just touch boss on the powerhead
