6Position top end of the connecting rod over the wrist pinApply OMC Needle Bearing Assembly Grease to the 28 needle bearingsInstall the bearings into the connecting rod 1 5211531 7Carefully lift the connecting rod, wrist pin bearing, and the lower thrust washer off the wrist pin without disturbing the needlesAdd the upper thrust washer, flat side up, and place the assembly inside the piston Carefully align all pieces and push the wrist pin downwardI Note The connecting rod has no specific orientationIt can be
installed with either side up8Finish installing the wrist pin through the connecting rod and the piston until the wrist pin contacts the installed retaining ringCheck to be sure none of the needle bearings have been disturbed and pushed out of the connecting rodInstall second new retaining ring as described in Step 39Install piston rings on each pistonSpread each ring with ring expander just enough to slip it over the head of the piston and down into place
154110Clean the seal bore of the crankcase head and install new seal using OMC Installer PIN 333520Apply OMC Gasket Sealing Compound to the metal casing of the seal and press the seal into the crankcase head until the tool is seatedThe sharp edge of the seal's metal case must face the tool during installation11If removed, oil and press new lower main bearing onto the crankshaft When pressing on the bearing, support the crankshaft between the two lower counterweights and press against the lettered side of the bearing Install the retaining ring in groove of the crankshaft with sharp edge of the ring facing away from bearing 155112Replace the driveshaft a-ring end of the crankshaft
