Cranking Output Tests Using C.DVoltmeter All Models All cranking output tests must be performed with spark plugs installed and torqued in the cylinder headIf necessary to remove the spark plugs, be sure to keep the spark tester away from open spark plug holes
Battery must be fully charged before testing new engine not yet broken in may show lower readings due to lower cranking speeds
Step Total Output Test
Before making cranking output tests, perform total output test
ARemove the high tension leads from both spark plugs[] To prevent damage to the spring terminal on the high tension lead, twist and pull the cover
I-il BAdjust the spark gap on the spark tester to Y2 in(12 mm) t1J Connect the tester leads to the high tension leadsSecure tester clip to clean engine ground
