44Using OMC Trim Cylinder End Cap Remover PIN 324958 and breaker bar, remove both of the trim cylinder end caps45 Remove the outside seals from the trim cylinder end capsThere is an O-ring and back-up ringone of -two different designsNewer nylon seals will be continuous ring of nylonOlder seals are split46Using smooth flat tool, remove the scraper from the trim end capPry the scraper out of the groove in the end capDiscard the scrapers
47Using the same smooth flat tool, remove the O-ring from the end caps Discard the O-ringsClean both end caps and scrape all corrosion or loose paint from the threads in the outside O-ring area
48There are two different types of seals in the trim end caps The one pictured on the left is an O-ring The one pictured on the right is quad-ring The quad-ring is used for service49Oil and install new quad-ring in the groove in the trim end capsOil and install new scraper To aid in the installation of the scraper, warm the scraper in hot water
