1681 1Place new O-ring on the driveshaftCoat the driveshaft
splines with OMC Moly LubeDo not coat top surface of the driveshaft as lubricant here may prevent seating of the driveshaft in the crankshaft2Check condition of inner exhaust housing sealReplace the seal if necessaryApply Scotch Grip Rubber Adhesive to inside surface of seal and place seal on exhaust housingApply OMC Triple-Guard grease to outer surface of seal3Slide the gearcase into place, making sure that the driveshaft engages the crankshaft and the water tube enters the water pump grommet4Apply OMC Gasket Sealing Compound to threads of gearcase retaining screwsInstall and tighten all the screws to the following torques :
