Step 1Charge Coil Running Tests Using C.DVoltmeter and Adapter Coil Output TestSeparate the three-wire connector and plug both ends into the adapterSet the voltmeter switches to "-" and "500 Turn all the adapter switches to "ON

all tester leads so they do not interfere with moving engine parts
APlace the meter red lead in jack "A" and the meter black lead in jack "B Start the engine and run at RPM where problem existsObserve the meterStop the engine
If the meter indicates continuous reading of 275 volts or higher, the charge coil is OKProceed to Step Sensor Coil Running Tests Using C.DVoltmeter and Adapter No or low meter reading, refer to Charge Coil Ground Test Charge Coil Ground TestTurn all adapter switches "OFF Set the voltmeter switches to "-" and "500
