Cranking Output Tests Using C.DVoltmeter60 thru 75 i plugs installed and torqued in the cylinder headIf
necessary to remove the spark plugs, be sure to keep the spark tester away from open spark plug holes in the cylinder headBattery must be fully charged before testingA new engine not yet broken in may show lower readings due to lower cranking speedsA four-wire connector connects the timer base to the power packA three-wire connector connects the charge coil and the key switch to the power packIndividual leads directly connect the power pack to the ignition coils
All cranking output tests must be performed with spark

Step Total Output Test
Before making cranking output tests, perform total output test as follows :

ARemove the high tension leads from both spark plugsTo prevent damage to the spring terminal on the high tension lead, twist and pull on the cover

BAdjust the spark gaps on the spark tester to in(12 mm)
