Cam Follower Pickup Point
r:t1l 1Connect throttle shaft amplifier to the top carburetor
plate, as shownf11l2While advancing the throttle cam, the short embossed mark on the cam should align with the center of the throttle cam follower as tip of the amplifier begins to movef12l3With the follower screw loose, align the embossed mark on the throttle cam with center of the cam followerWith the throttle valves in the closed position, hold the cam follower against the short embossed mark and tighten the cam follower screw
Cam Follower Pickup Timing
1Connect timing light to No1 cylinder spark plug high tension lead2Advance the throttle by moving the throttle control lever until tip of the amplifier begins to moveRemove the amplifier but do not move the throttle control lever3Start the engine and observe spark advance with timing lightThe proper pickup timing is listed below
