13811391 9Carefully lift the connecting rod, wrist pin bearing, and lower thrust washer off the wrist pin without disturbing the needlesAdd the upper thrust washer, flat side up, and place the assembly inside the pistonCarefully align all pieces and push the wrist pin downward10Finish installing the wrist pin through the connecting rod and the piston until the wrist pin contacts the installed retaining ringBe sure none of the needle bearings have been disturbed or pushed out of the connecting rodInstall the remaining retaining ring as described in step 511Install piston rings on each pistonSpread each ring with ring expander just enough to slip it over the head of the piston and down into place12Coat pistons, rings, cylinders and OMC Ring Compressor PIN 326592 (PI 330222 for oversize) with outboard lubricant140113Center connecting rod in piston and locate piston rings on their dowel pinsWith the word "UP" on dome of piston facing flywheel end of crankshaft, slide piston into the respective cylinder bore while guiding the connecting rod through the blockThe piston rings must be correctly located on their dowel pins to prevent permanent powerhead damage
