Gearcase ServicingColt, Junior Removal
.1 To a.void accidental starting of engine while servic109, tWist and remove spark plug lead
2 Remove the propeller and attaching hardware from the gearcase[]] 3Remove the two screws attaching the gearcase to the exhaust housing 4Withdraw the gearcase carefully to avoid damaging the driveshaft and water tube5Remove the oil filiidrain plug to drain the gearcase
Disassemb ly Before disassembling the gearcase, refer to Cleaning and Inspection at the beginning of this section If gearcase is being disassembled for water pump repair kit, do not remove the driveshaft or pull it out of the gearcase so far that the pinion drops out of position
Remove the two screws
Lift the impeller housing and the driveshaft from the L!I gearcaseRemove and discard the water tube grommet from the impeller housing
