Removal 1Remove the powerhead as described in Section 42Remove the gearcase as described in Section 6

f21 Remove the lower mount housings the two lower side mounts
5 Lift and twist the exhaust housing to free the upper mounts from the swivel bracket assembly
Disassem bly
Remove the two screws retaining the exhaust housing coverRemove the cover and discard the a-ring
the setscrew from the shift shaft gear Remove the shift lever from the shift shaft gearDiscard the -ring from the shift lever3 Lift out the shift rod pinion
