Install the lower bearing retaining ring with BEVELED EDGE OUTThe gap of retaining ring must be centered around the oil hole in the front of the crankcase
29Apply OMC Gasket Sealing Compound to the outside diameter of new lower crankshaft seal Install the seal with lip facing up towards flywheel, until seal bottoms on the retaining ring30Check for binding between the crankshaft and the bearings or connecting rods by rotating the crankshaft with the flywheelApply OMC Gasket Sealing Compound to bot sides of new cylinder head gasketGasket has boss to match the cylinder headInstall the cylinder head and torque the screws in stages to 144-168 in Ibs(1619 Nm), following sequence shown
