Step 4Power Pack Cranking Tests To prevent accidental starting of the engine, twist and remove the high tension leads from the spark plugs and attach to spark tester1Set C.Dvoltmeter to "-" and "500 Twist and pull the primary leads off the ignition coil2Install terminal extenders on the primary terminals by twisting in clockwise direction3Attach the primary leads to the terminal extenders4To test the power pack output to the No1 (top) ignition coil, connect the meter black lead to clean engine groundConnect the meter red lead to metal part of extender on No1 ignition coilCrank the engine and observe the meter reading Meter should indicate 125 volts or higher

EI from the terminal extenderConnect the meter red lead to
spring clip in boot of the primary lead Crank the engine and observe the meter reading If meter reads 125 volts or higher, test the ignition coil as described on page 3-10 If the meter reads below 125 volts, check condition of spring clip and primary wire If problem with the wire or spring clip is found, correct the problem and retest the power pack output If the condition of the wire and spring clip is acceptable, replace the power pack6Test the power pack output to the No2 ignition coil as described above7To remove terminal extender from ignition coilturn extender in clockwise direction and pull off8Install power pack primary leads on ignition coil primary terminalsObserve proper wire routing and ignition timingorange blue lead must go to the No1 ignition coil
