Step 3Sensor Coil Cranking Tests Sensor Coil Ground Test 1Disconnect the sensor leads from the power pack2Set C.Dvoltmeter to "S" and "5

3 Insert meter red lead into one sensor leadAttach meter black lead to clean engine groundCrank the engine and observe meter4 Move meter red lead to the other sensor leadCrank engine and observe meter Any reading on either test indicates grounded sensor coil or lead Locate ground and repair, or replace the sensor coilDR1785

2Insert meter red lead into one sensor lead, and meter black lead into the other sensor leadCrank engine and observe meter3Reverse meter leads and crank engineObserve meter reading If the meter reads volts or higher, go to Step 4Power Pack Cranking Tests If the meter reads below volts on either test, check condition of the component wiring and connectors If problem with the wiring or connectors is found, correct the problem and retest the sensor coil output If condition of wiring and connectors is acceptable, refer to Sensor Coil Ohmmeter Test
