Armature Plate Servicing2.5, Ultra 4, Excel 4 Removal

i twist and remove spark plug leads

1To avoid accidental starting of engine while servicing,

2Remove the manual starter as described in Section 73Remove flywheelRefer to Flywheel Servicing

4 Loosen screws attaching armature plate to retainer plateLift the armature plate from the powerhead5The retainer plate and support plate may be removed for service by removing screws from support plate

Installation If removed for service, install the retainer plate on the crankcasePosition support plate on crankcaseApply OMC Nut Lock to threads of retaining screwsLoosely install the screws
