DTest the power pack output to the No2 ignition coil as described aboveETo remove the terminal extender from the ignition coil primary terminal, turn the extender in clockwise direction and pull offFInstall power pack primary leads on ignition coil terminalsObserve wire routing and ignition timingorange blue lead to the No.1 ignition coil Hard Starting
It is possible for the ignition system to produce good spark and yet the engine will not startIf the engine "pops" or "backfires" duril"'g starting attempts, the ignition timing could be 180 degrees offCheck the following1Sensor Wire PositioningOn the five -wire connector between the armature plate and power pack, be sure the whiteblack wire is located in the "Bterminal of both connector halves2Ignition Coil Wire PositioningBe sure the orange blue lead from the power pack is connected to the top (No1) ignition coil3Flywheel and Flywheel Key ConditionIf the flywheel is out of position due to damaged crankshaft or flywheel tapers, or sheared flywheel key, the ignition timing will be affected Refer to Section 1, Synchronization and linkage AdjustmentsBefore checking the engine for maximum spark advance, refer to Section 1, Synchronization and linkage Adjustments Perform the adjustments in the order listed
