Power Pack Running Test Using C.DVoltmeter

r:;4l Set the voltmeter switches to "-" and "500 Twist and pull L:!.J the primary leads off the ignition coilsTurning in clockwise direction, attach terminal extenders to the primary terminal of the ignition coils Reconnect the primary leads to the terminal extendersObserve wire routing and ignition timing: orangeblue lead to the No1 (top) ignition coil
INote Rou.te all tester leads so they do not interfere with moving

ATo test power pack output, connect the meter black lead to
a clean engine groundStart the engine and run at RPM where problem existsBHold the meter red lead against metal part of the Noi coil extenderDo not hold metal part of meter red lead when the engine is operating Meter should indicate continuous reading of 230 volts or higherCIf the meter reads less than 230 volts, remove the No.1 ignition coil primary lead from the terminal extenderConnect the meter red lead to spring clip in boot of the primary leadRemove the No2 high tension lead from its spark plug and connect it to spark tester Connect the spark tester to clean engine groundCrank the engine and observe the meter reading If the meter reads 200 volts or higher, test the ignition coil as described on page 3- 10 If the meter reads less than 200 volts, replace the power packE u
