4 Check for correct float drop dimension This dimension affects the full opening of the inlet needle and is critical to correct operation of the carburetorWith carburetor body in normal running position, the float must drop open to dimension shownTo adjust, bend tab on float arm where tab contacts float seat5Replace fuel pump bladder

and nipple

6Place two new a-rings GD on fuel shut-off valve CD (if equipped)Install a-rings on shut-off valve with light film of oilInstall assembly in the bowl with twisting motion as you push it inThis will prevent damage to a-ringsInstall roll pin

74 and DeluxeInstall new float chamber gasket Install the float chamber to the carburetor body Install float chamber screws Tighten screws in an "X" pattern to torque of 15-22 inIbs(1,6-2,4 Nm) 9Install cam follower linkage104 and DeluxeInstall new packing washers in carburetor bodyInstall needle valve packing nutbut do not tighten against the packing 11Install needle valveturning carefully until it is seated lightlyDO NOT turn down tight as the taper on the needle may be damagedTurn the needle counterclockwise one turn124 and DeluxeTighten the packing nut against the packing until the needle can just be turned with finger pressureThe needle valve will be adjusted after the carburetor has been installed on the engine
