Timing Pointer
If the timing pointer or manual starter assembly has been disturbed, check the top dead center timing pointer alignment

r.jl 2Center the timer pointerRotate the flywheel in clockwise direction until the cast-in TOC mark is approximately in(4 cm) past the timing pointer

'4l 4While holding the flywheel firmly against the toolmark the flywheel directly across from the pointerConsider this mark "A '4l5Continue to turn the flywheel in clockwise direction until the piston contact is felt againMark this exact spot on the flywheel and consider this mark "B Remove the piston stop tool'4l Use scale along the flywheel edge and measure the midpoint between the two linesMark the midpoint on the rim of the flywheelConsider this mark "C If the mark "C" and the cast-in TOC line are in agreement, the timing pointer alignment is correctIf not, proceed to step '4l 7Turn the flywheel to align mark "C" with the pointerHold the flywheel in this positionLoosen the pointer screw and move the pointer to align it with cast-in TOC mark on the flywheelTighten the pointer screw8Install and tighten both spark plugs to torque of 18-20 ftIbs(24-27 Nm)DR1233
