Throttle Cable Installation and Assembly 1Move fast idle lever from RUN to START several times then return lever to RUN position2Move throttle lever on engine so that the idle stop screw is against its stop3Grasp throttle cable casing guide and trunnion adjusting nut and pull firmly on casing guide to remove backlash from cable and remote controlMake sure fast idle lever is still in RUN position4Place casing guide over pin on engine throttle lever '3l "'-

5Attach casing guide to pin using washer and locknut supplied with engineTighten locknut securely
fJil 6Turn trunnion adjustment nut until trunnion aligns with

pocket of anchor blockPosition trunnion nut in pocket of anchor block

7 Place cable retainer over both trunnion nuts and tighten fastener securely
8 Check cable adjustmentIf cable adjustment is long (in compression), idle speed will tend to be high and inconsistent and shifting out of gear may be difficultIf cable adjustment is tight (in tension), control may be stiff through the shifting range
