30 Install the water pump as described in Water Pump ServicingInstallation 1Place new O-ring on the driveshaftCoat the driveshaft splines with OMC Moly LubeDo not coat top surface of the driveshaft as lubricant here may prevent seating of the driveshaft in the crankshaft
If the lower inner exhaust housing came out with the gearcase, check the condition of the seal on the housingReplace the seal if necessaryApply Scotch-Grip Rubber Adhesive 1300 to the inside of the seal and place the lower inner exhaust housing in cavity of the gearcase
3Slide the gearcase into place making sure that the driveshaft engages the crankshaft, the water tube enters the water pump, and be sure the lower inner exhaust housing does not slip out of position retaining screwsInstall and tighten all the screws to the following torques:
