VRO Break-In Considerations
To protect the engine condition during the first ten hours of operation and to ensure long engine service life, follow the Engine Break-In Procedure outlined in Section 1In addition, follow these steps to ensure the VRO system is operating normally1Before putting the engine into service, be sure all oil line connections are airtightAn air leak could reduce the amount of oil supplied to the VRO units2During break-in period, the boat's fuel tank must have 100: fueloil mixture in addition to VRO operation 3Test the "low oil" and "no oil" warning circuitsRefer to Installation Recommendations, this section4The oil level should be marked on the side of the reservoir before putting the engine into service After the break-in period, the operator must verify that oil has been used before switching to clear fuel in the boat's fuel tank
