3 Start the engine and observe spark advance with timing lightThe proper spark advance is indicated in chart
advanced until center of roller aligns with first mark on camAfter timing is checked, return idle stop adjustment screw to original position
Pickup Timing 35 thru 50

4Stop the engine to prevent contact with moving partsTo adjust the pickup timing, loosen the jam nutRotate the top of the thumb wheel toward the crankcase to increase the pickup timing degrees and away from the crankcase to decrease the pickup timing degrees5Tighten jam nut and repeat steps thru Wide Open Throttle Stop Adjustment 1With the engine not running, advance the throttle control lever to the wide open position
