56 Attaching Electrical Cable at Motor End
Disconnect battery cables before servicing electrical systemsFailure to do so could result in injury from ignition sources (sparks) or from contact with moving parts if accidental cranking or starting occursProvide sufficient slack at motor end to permit steering and tilting of motor without binding1Remove cable clamp from front of lower engine cover&
2Route the positive (red) battery lead to starter solenoid using the decal on starter motor as your guideSecure lead to starter motorCover terminal with rubber boot
3Apply OMC Triple-Guard Grease to shaped area shown in FigureAlign arrows on motor cable connector and instrument cable connector and push connectors firmly togetherSecure the connection with spring clip and snap the clip into retainers on exhaust coverSecure cable in clamps on exhaust cover
