Accessory Connection Electrical Checks Before disconnecting battery, test electrical accessory plug on remote controlInsert red voltmeter lead into" A" terminal and insert black lead into "c" terminalWith the key switch in the "ON" position, the voltmeter should read battery voltageTo check tachometer circuit, engine must be runningUse C.Dvoltmeter, insert black voltmeter lead into terminal "e" and red lead into terminal "B With engine running, voltmeter should show alternator voltage output Disassembly of Remote Control
Disconnect battery cables before servicing electrical systemsFailure to do so could result in injury from ignition sources (sparks) or from contact with moving parts if accidental cranking or starting occurs2To remove control handle loosen Allen head screw three complete turns3Support control on blocks to allow the control handle to be driven off the controlPlace small punch in head of Allen head screw, and tap with plastic hammer to disengage the control handle splines from the hub splinesRemove the Allen head screw and the control handle4Remove three screws from remote control and pull halves apart5Remove shift cable pin from shift control clevis and disengage cable6To remove throttle cable, lift throttle cable trunnion from pocket and bring cable rearward to expose cable pin Remove cable pin and cable7Remove retainer plate screw and retainer plate from control81
