Installation of Gearcase155
1Place new O-ring on the driveshaftCoat the driveshaft splines with OMC Moly LubeDo not coat top surface of the driveshaft, as the lubricant here may prevent seating of the driveshaft in the crankshaft2Apply OMC Adhesive "M" to the lower inner exhaust housing seal surfacesPosition two new seals on the housingApply OMC Triple-Guard Grease to the seals and position the housing on the gearcase3Apply thin bead of OMC Adhesive "M" cement to the upper outer edge of the gearcase where it will contact the outer exhaust housing4 Slide the gearcase into place making sure that the driveshaft engages the crankshaft, the water tube enters the water pump and the lower inner exhaust housing does not slip out of position5Dip the gearcase attaching screws in OMC Gasket Sealing CompoundInstall and tighten the screws to the following torques: 38" retaining screws 38-41 Nm (28-30 ftIbs716" retaining screws 65-70 Nm (48-52 ftIbs6If removed, install the trim tab and align it with the index marksTighten the screw to torque of 24-27 Nm (18-20 ftIbs7'" Engage the shift rod in the shift rod link and tighten the screw
