Disassembly and Reassembly of Propeller Shaft Bearing Housing100 The seals and bearings can be removed if worn1To remove the rear bearing and the two seals, use either OMC Special Tool PIN 391259 (Bearing and Seal Remover) with jaws PIN 391011 or OMC Special Tool PIN 311880 (Drive Handle) attached to OMC Special Tool PIN 316615 (Bearing Remover) 0
2To remove the front bearing, use OMC Special Tool PIN 391259 and modify the jaws as shown If you grind your own jaws, grind them very slowly and quench them often in water so that you do not lose the temper of the jawsThere are two grooves in the bearing housing to accept the jaws of the puller3Thoroughly clean the bearing housing and the four bearing housing retaining screws in solventDiscard the retaining screws O-rings4Oil and install new bearings in the bearing housingFor the large forward bearinguse either OMC Special Tool PIN 314641 or 326562 (Bearing Installer)To install the small rear bearing use OMC Special Tool PIN 321517 Press against the lettered side of the bearings to prevent damage to the bearings when installing
