15Remove the pinion bearing from the gearcase as follows: Remove the bearing retaining screw from the gearcaseDiscard the O-ring from the screwAssemble the following components of OMC Special Tool PIN 391257 in the gearcase

Flange Nut PIN 326586 Plate PIN 391260 Rod PIN 326582 Remover PIN 326580

Using 1" wrench, hold the remover in placeUsing a

34" wrench, turn the flange nut and draw the bearing
out of the gearcase16Inspect the water intake screen for blockage and remove it by depressing the tabs on either side of the screen and push ing upward
Disassembly and Reassembly of Propeller Shaft Bearing Housing65 The seals and bearings can be removed if worn1To remove the two seals, use either OMC Special Tool
