6 Lubricate and place the bushings in the swivel bracket
7Place the swivel bracket in the stern bracketsLubricate and place the thrust washers between the stern brackets and swivel bracket8On Remote Electric ModelInsert the tilt tube through the stern and swivel bracketsTighten the tilt tube nuts to torque of 32-35 Nm (24-26 ftIbsThen back-off 18 to 14 turn after applying torque On Manual Tilt ModelsPlace one tilt bolt washer on the tilt boltInsert the tilt bolt through the starboard stern bracket and into the swivel bracket centerInstall the steering friction handle guard on the tilt bolt with the lip upPush the tilt bolt through the port side of the swivel bracket and stern bracketInstall the other washer and the nutTighten the nut to torque of 19-22 Nm (14-16 ft lbs
9Install the shock absorber upper pin through the swivel bracket and shock absorber rod endInstall the spring clip on the pin10Insert the steering friction washer in the swivel bracketInsert the steering friction bushing in the swivel bracket with the "M" stamp to the front11Install the bushing retaining screw in the top rear of the swivel bracketTurn the screw in until it is in the slot of the bushingContinue turning until it contacts the bushingBack the screw out 14 turnThis screw is patchlock screw and should be replaced if the patch no longer adds friction12Install the top and bottom seals in the swivel bracket with the lips facing outward13Insert the steering friction handle screw through the guardPlace the spring on the screw Turn the handle screw in the swivel bracket until it contacts the steering friction bushingDo not tighten it at this time
