Crankshaft
1Use OMC Special Tool PIN 325453 (Seal Installer) to install new seal in the upper crankcase headApply OMC Gasket Sealing Compound to metal case of the seal before installingLip of the seal must face in when installed
2Use OMC Special Tool PIN 326567 (Seal Installer) to install new seal in the lower crankcase headApply OMC Gasket Sealing Compound to metal case of the seal before installingLip of the seal must face out toward the gearcase when installed3Oil and place two new O-rings on both crankcase heads
4Slide the upper crankcase head onto the crankshaft5Install the lower main bearing as followsPlace the lower bearing retainer plate the crankshaft
Using an arbor press, oil and press new ball bearing onto the crankshaft lower journalWhen pressing on the bearing, support the crankshaft between the two lower counterweights and press against lettered side of the bearingInstall the retaining ring Place the crankcase head in position aligning holes with the bearing retainer plateApply Gel Seal II to threads of new retainer plate screwsInsert and draw the screws up, then back off two turns to provide slight degree of end movement which will facilitate the crankshaft installation
