7Remove the rings from the pistons by prying the ends loose enough to grip them with pliers and then breaking them away from the pistonInstall complete set of new rings on every powerhead service repair8If necessary to remove wrist pin, remove wrist pin retaining ring, using OMC Special Tool PIN 325937 (Wrist Pin Retainer Pliers)9The fit between the wrist pin to bosses of the piston is loose on both sidesPush the wrist pin through to free the piston from the connecting rodIf necessary, use OMC Special Tool PIN 326356 (Pressing Pin) and PIN 326572 (Piston Cradle) Be careful not to lose any of the 28 needle bearings or the two wrist pin washersIf any of the bearings are worn or lost, replace all 28 bearings on reassembly
