To prevent possible fire and explosion under the motor cover, make sure ignition and eletrical wires are routed and clamped in original position; away from rotating parts which could cut or abrade wire insulation

1Clean the powerhead and adaptor gasket surfacesPlace new gasket on the adaptorCoat the driveshaft splines with OMC Moly LubeDo not coat the top surface of the shaftLubricant here may prevent seating of the driveshaft in the crankshaft2Attach OMC Special Tool PIN 378103 (Universal Puller) to the flywheelThread OMC Special Tool PIN 321537 (Lifting Eye) into the puller body until it seats firmly against the crankshaftUsing hoist, lower the powerhead onto the adaptorUse care to avoid damaging the splines of the crankshaft and driveshaftRotating the powerhead slightly clockwise as it is lowered will engage the splinesAlign the cylinder block stud with the hole in the adaptor3Coat the threads of the exhaust housing to the powerhead screws with OMC Gasket Sealing CompoundInstall and tighten the screws to torque of 25-27 Nm (18-20 ftIbs4I nstall the washer and nut on the exhaust housing to the powerhead studTighten the nut to torque of 25-27 Nm (18-20 ftIbs5Connect the water pump indicator hose to indicator nipple
